CDM

The common myth of construction law is that CDM does not apply to every project. Whilst the Construction and Design Management Regulations 2007 mean that not every project is notifiable they do apply to non-notifiable projects.

Notifiable projects are those that last over 30 working days or 500 man days. It is the clients responsible to instruct a CDM Coordinator if the project is notifiable. There are certain duties of each of the appointed persons on every project and the penalties for not complying are very strenuous and in the case of an incident may cause untold cost and heartache. The need for a qualified Project Manager, CDM Coordinator and Designer are essential in every notifiable project. 1st Class Services may act as any one of these. Health and Safety

We believe safe projects are the only projects. We have a pragmatic and budget conscious approach to this subject whilst not overlooking any aspect of the law. We can guide you through the hoops of risk assessments and method statements but our services go much further than that.
O&M Manuals are a legal requirement in some projects and contain critical information about the operating, maintenance, as-built drawings and future dismantling information of the building. Ask us for more information if you need help in obtaining one for your project or understanding any part of one.
We are CHAS approved and have the necessary safety qualifications amongst the staff for your project; sit back, relax and enjoy the journey to your new environment.

Construction

We are not builders. We design and specify for builders, tender and award the contracts.
With many years in the construction industry we envisage the pitfalls and plan ways round or over them. Experience is nine tenths of the deal when you are taking a risk and building is a risky business. We can reduce the risk and take liability for your project to save you every worry, and ourselves maintain professional indemnity for your own peace of mind.

Environment

Environmental issues are an aspect we take seriously and our ethos is to build in sustainability and friendly methodology into every project when practically possible.
Often methods such as reducing landfill through crushing demolition waste not only reduces carbon footprint but buys you kudos with the planning officers and we can advise on any concerns you may have.
