We can provide free on-site advice for the simple project or engage in a Feasibility Contract to carry out surveys and speculative contract prices so that you have a guarantee before entering into a project that you can complete.
Feasibility studies may include not only price but size, location, timescales, planning issues and many other aspects to projects. When undertaking a large project involving juggling a number of possible adverse hurdles it may benefit from engaging a project consultant for those early negotiations, council representations and neighbour consultations.

Planning
Planning issues are not an easy subject and can contain many pitfalls. Following a successful planning application there are often conditions to discharge and the whole process from submitting the plans can take many months.
Success lies in talking to planners at their level having carried out your homework and meticulous planning and attention to detail, detail that may only be anticipated by an experienced planning adviser.

Tenders
Tendering a project is a science and involves understanding of JCT Minor Works Contracts and contract law. The consequences of failure of a Main Contractor can be tried under criminal law and the need for an accurately written specification with meticulously prepared preliminaries cannot be understated to ensure disputes never come back.
An input specification is essential to obtain equality in tendering and YORtender provides an excellent platform for public sector tenders and approved contractors.
No matter how simple a project may appear there are always one or two gremlins beneath the surface and invariably the disputes arise when what you thought you asked for and what the client thought you’d accept vary. In this case it comes down to what is on paper and a missing adjective can make the difference of a large percentage of the project if the worst were to happen.
The awarding of the tenders is left entirely to the discretion of the client but we make our recommendations.
Project Management
A well-managed project will hardly ever involve the need for the client after the pre-start meeting but will include accurate and daily reporting. The common myth of a client to believe that they require presence is the result of a lack of trust usually from previously failed contractors or an inaccurate tender document.
We believe in the need of very close supervision and CDM compliant health and safety on site with close quality control measured against the pre-set criteria, which requires that 1st Class Services are the point of contact on site with autonomy to make those difficult decisions and resolve issues as they arise.
Critical path analysis and pre-agree reporting, on-site meetings and client updates will ensure a smooth project.
Timescales will only be adhered to with careful planning in the lead-in period and many issues of overshooting deadlines arise from poorly specified materials, laborious techniques, inaccurate drawings, and many other reasons. One of the reasons to use 1st Class Services would be that you require a definitive deadline.

SLAs
We offer 2 levels of Service Level Agreement for the education market.
The Silver Agreement would be suitable for most schools with modest Devolved Capital Budgets and no major projects. Fixed prices for the year with no unexpected bills or lack of access to qualified advice when required further details on request.
The Gold Agreement is aimed at High Schools and those with larger and more unpredictable projects. Tailored to the individual needs of the client, our Project Managers will answer every question on your behalf yet leaving you complete control and flexibility to intervene when required further details on request.
